Special thanks to AJ (from Point Breeze) and his staff for again donating and cooking a delicious lunch.
Also special thanks to Linda Patrick who once again did a great job organizing the entire event.

Sunset-Moonrise Paddle
The Sunset-Moonrise Paddle was quite cloudy but it was still very enjoyable. We paddled around the Eagle Nest and got to see one of the adults landing on the island. Although rain had been predicted earlier, 45 kayaks and canoes took advantage of a great evening and, just as we were landing back at the marina, some did get to see the moon rising (through the clouds). Many thanks to The Last Green Valley participants (including Bill Reid) who made up a large part of the group.

Eagle Convention?
A large group of eagles were seen on Monday, January 30 on South Pond. The membership of the group varied, but at one time, there were around 12 eagles within about 30 feet of each other. They were mostly juveniles, but there seemed, at times, to be at least one adult as well. Quite a flock. They didn't seem to be doing much except occasionally pushing each other around.

Beavers VS. Lake Level
Debris resulting from the work of a family of beavers has produced difficulties in the normal control of the water level of the lake. This has led to a somewhat lower water level than the normal target. Ice breakup contributed to this as well. Now, until we get some water via rain, the raising of the level is slow and difficult.
